A Beautiful English Castle Wedding

Marie and Matthew’s wedding was such a beautiful day, from start to finish.

I first met Marie at the Bluewater wedding fair almost two years before their wedding where she booked me as her wedding photographer on the spot.

During the time from them booking me and their wedding, Marie and Matthew had a beautiful baby boy who they brought along to my studio to have some newborn photographs taken.

So, fast forward to the wedding day. I got to the stunningly beautiful Chiddingstone Castle early and wandered around whilst the talented suppliers – the florists, the cake maker were all putting the finishing touches to their beautiful creations.

I met Matthew and the boys early at the glorious wedding venue shortly before they went off to the parish church just 5 minutes away.

Marie and the girls arrived at the castle shortly after the boys left – a well orchestrated move!

Watching the 3 wedding cars – 3 Rolls Royce’s – arrive in convoy at Chiddingstone Castle was almost like a scene from Downton Abbey!

Marie and Matthew decided on the stunning wedding venue because Matthew used to go fishing with his Dad at Chiddingstone Castle when he was a young boy. The Castle stole Marie’s heart when she noticed the St Georges Cross flying high! Marie’s Dad who passed away sadly in 2010 was very patriotic and it felt like it was a sign from him saying this is the one!

Marie had a photo of her dad attached to her beautiful bouquet, because “I had him close to my heart when walking down the aisle.”

Marie’s gorgeous bridesmaids all wore a different pastel colour. Marie says “We wanted an elegant, sophisticated summer wedding with the bridesmaids wearing pretty pastels and the decor kept Ivory with a touch of sparkle. I absolutely loved shopping for 7 bridesmaids, 8 Groomsmen and seven page boys!

It actually took two years of planning the wedding of the year because I wanted to research and make sure I had the best of everything! The Wedding was pure class and it blew everyone away so I’m very proud of myself and Matt!

We have so many amazing memories from our wedding day but our favourite would have to be meeting each other at the end of the aisle and saying our vows in front of our son Harry. Matts amazing speech it had our all laughing and tears of happiness and joy. Matthew bought me a beautiful diamond cross which was a pleasant surprise! The necklace was delivered to me by Matts best man Josh in a beautiful antique jewellery box.”

It really was a beautiful day, Chiddingstone Castle is a beautiful wedding venue and is the perfect backdrop for gorgeous wedding photographs.

When I asked Marie about her photographs, here is what she had to say….

….”We met you two years before our wedding at the Bluewater wedding fair. We looked at your work and signed up there and then – we didn’t have to even think about looking else where! We looked at your work form previous weddings and we were blown away! It was refreshing to meet a photographer with a unique, modern, fresh approach to wedding photography.

We thought you was fantastic a true professional every detail and intimate moment was captured. On the day itself you made us both feel at ease and was calm, unobtrusive, but not afraid to direct people if needed.

The photographs are amazing!!! Pleased is an understatement we can not thank you enough for capturing so many amazing photographs which we will treasure forever.”
